UW Course Planner

About UW Course Planner

Not affiliated with or endorsed by the University of Washington. Unofficial — always confirm with DARS/MyPlan and your adviser.

What it is

A planning board for UW students. Lay out your courses quarter by quarter, see which degree requirements they cover, check prerequisites, and build a weekly class schedule from the sections offered in a quarter.

It is a planning aid. It does not register you for anything, and its degree audit is not a degree evaluation.

Where the data comes from

  • Courses and sections: the University of Washington's public course catalog and Time Schedule, scraped nightly. If UW changes a class after the last run, this site will not show it yet.
  • Degree requirements: written by hand from the official department and General Catalog pages. Each program is marked with how closely it has been checked. Programs not yet reviewed carry an "unverified" warning.

Catalog years change and departments make exceptions. When this site and DARS/MyPlan disagree, DARS/MyPlan and your adviser are right.

How AP credit works

You enter the AP exams you took and your scores. The planner applies a score-to-course table based on UW's published AP credit policy, and counts the resulting courses as completed toward your requirements and as prerequisites for later courses.

UW updates its AP table from time to time, and some departments set their own rules. Check the current table with the UW Admissions credit-by-exam page and your adviser before you rely on an AP course.
